The growth in recreational vehicle sale has been astounding over the last two years, seemingly accelerated by the COVID pandemic as travelers find ways to spread their wings outside of an airport. With the existing base of RV owners growing by nearly 1% per week, experts predict that sales will surpass previous records next year.

"Since COVID became widespread, we've seen a constant increase in consumer demand for RVs," said John Haseley, president of Recreational Vehicle Industry Association. "People are finally realizing that they can travel where they want without needing an airport."

Haseley added that the industry was hopeful that any new regulations would not hamper consumers' newfound freedom to travel with their RVs.  "We have not seen much change in consumer behavior since COVID began affecting air travel, so it's unlikely there will be much backlash from this pandemic", he said.

One thing is clear: with all of those new RVs, there needs to be somewhere to store them.   Recreational Vehicle storage facilities are also seeing double digit growth.

With Recreational Vehicle sales expected to jump by 33% next year, sales agents are urging consumers to act fast if they want their own space for their RV.  "A few years ago, when this disease took hold in America, Recreational Vehicle sales started small," said Alvin Everett of Recreational RV Storage. "Since then, we've seen a steady stream of customers looking for Recreational Vehicle storage space across the country and it doesn't show any sign of slowing down."
