Sunterra Community Construction Update

The construction at Land Tejas’ Sunterra community is expanding at a rapid pace.  Developers near the Storage King Katy site have cleared over 2400 acres of land for the development, making way for a rumored 7000 homes.  The first phase of the development is in the southern portion near Clay Road, with activity extending north along Schlipf and Pitts Road to Beckendorff road.  Several neighborhood sections appear to have been completed in the south part, and ongoing excavation and underground work are underway along Schlipf Road.  Clay Road is undergoing improvements, which will be converted from an asphalt roadway to concrete, and Schlipf Road is said to be scheduled for future improvement when the neighborhood is complete.  The area will likely increase commerce to the previously rural northwest Katy region and should attract more amenities as it grows.
